Felt Sense Part One: Two Realities Collide

We feel something. A flicker, a surge. Almost instantly, a story forms. Two realities coexisting: raw sensation and narrative overlay.

The raw sensation wants one thing. The narrative wants another.

One wants to move, express, and be felt, to change as it changes.

The other wants to contain, analyze, rationalize, and avoid danger.

Our system strains under the pull in both directions. Rage flickers, tension rises, freeze tightens, collapse creeps in.

The body and brain try to find their way, and we get caught in the conflict.

This is not wrong. The body senses and signals. The mind predicts and plans.

Trouble finds us when we confuse the two, when we think through what just wants to be felt, when we use a hammer to work with water. We get into even more struggle when we ignore one side, either the raw sensation or the narrative, and stop listening to what each part is actually asking for.

Start with the collision.

Can we notice what our chest or belly does with the story, with the raw impulse. No smoothing. No fixing.

Just breathing and feeling.

This is where choice begins, not in the calm after the storm but right in the middle of the chaos.
